My Favorite Things

Some of my favorite things about being a mom...
watching Donovan smile
getting baby poop all over a white shirt
adorable baby clothes
funny advice from strangers
feeling like a real family
watching people's reactions when Donovan screams at the grocery store
our growing children's book collection
getting to take naps in the middle of the day
having an excuse to play disney music
baby proofing our house
being use to getting peed on
all of our family members are suddenly always around
waking up and seeing Donovan's face
how showering suddenly feels like a day at the spa
seeing Sterling wear the Snugli at the mall
getting to be called "Donovan's mom"
being up at 2:30 am because I'm rocking my baby to sleep and updating my blog with one hand

Donovan in Black and White

Here are some great pictures of our little man in black and white. Amber and I had a lot of fun doing these! His expressions are just priceless in some of these shots. We were trying to get some photos for his birth announcements. In the end we ended up going with another shot but these were too cute not to show somewhere.

Our New Family

Here are our first family photos! We got together with Amber to take these when Donovan was just a few weeks old. I think they turned out great! I know I'm really going to cherish these as he gets older.

We even got Becca in a few of the photos!

It's a Boy!

Donovan Mariano DeVard was born May 2, 2008 at 3:45 am. The was 7 pounds 5 ounces and 19.5 inches long. I ended up getting induced due to low amniotic fluid when I was 37 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Labor went pretty well and luckily I didn't have to have a c-section. So after about 14 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing our baby was born. When he came out the nurses and doctor yelled, "It's a Boy!" I was exhausted but very excited at the same time. They placed him on my belly and I got to look at him for the first time. He was so beautiful. Ever since that day I've never wanted to leave his side. It's amazing how instant that bond between baby and parent is formed.

We are so happy to have our little man! He's a perfect little baby.

How Pregnant Does Cori Look?

So we found out reccently that our baby is in the 75th percentile. Meaning he or she is bigger that 75 % of most babies. That may explain why I am so big and why people keep asking me how many babies I am going to have. We are just happy that our baby is healthy. And it seems our little one is just taking after his/her parents. Sterling was a 9 lb baby and although I was premature I weighted over 9 lbs by my due date.
The picture is from my birthday on March 3, but it seems I have gotten so much bigger just in the fews weeks since then. We are very excited for our little baby Goliath. :) Only 54 more days!

6 Month Baby Update

This is a post I should have put up in Febuary but forgot to...

Well it's time for another baby update! I'm now 6 months pregnant and into the third trimester. Sterling and I are both getting really excited for the big day in May. The baby has been very active lately kicking, turning and basically beating me up :) . Last month Sterling even got to feel the baby move for the first time. But now the baby is so strong that my whole stomach shakes when our little one gets active.

Yesterday Sterling and I went to our 27 week ultrasound appointment with Dr. DeVore our high-risk OB. The best news of all was that everything is fine and our baby is healthy! We still don't know the baby's gender, which almost slipped out from our doctor when he forgot that we want it to be a surprise. The baby is now 2 1/2 pounds! This was probably our most entertaining ultrasound yet! The first funny thing was that the baby had his/her hand in their mouth. Apparently our baby was bored and their hand looked pretty tasty. It was really cute! Then when he was trying to get a good picture of the baby's face for us the baby kept sticking his/her tongue out. Very funny! I think our little one is a comedian. Sterling and I were both amazed out how clearly the ultrasound shows the baby's face. Technology sure has come a long way!

The first photo I attached is the one of the baby's face. The next is of the baby trying to eat his/her hand. And lastly is a profile.

Club 33 & Disneyland

We went to Disneyland on Saturday for our reservation at Club 33. It was quite the experience! The food and service was amazing! Afterwards we went on some rides and enjoyed the holiday sites. We even got snowed on during one of the shows(of course the snow was really made of soap suds). All and all we had a great day! I included some photos of us too. The first one is us on the balcony at Club 33 that overlooks New Orleans Square. Next is us inside Club 33. And lastly is us on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters (as you can see Sterling really creamed me on that ride).
