Donovan has had a fascination with my bright green tooth brush for as long as I can remember. He would fuss and point at it when I would brush my teeth until I would give in and let him hold it/play with it. Sometimes I would even let him brush my teeth which he thought was hilarious. Finally I thought "Why not just get him his own toothbrush if he likes it so much?" So that's what I did! And he couldn't be happier. He loves his toothbrush. He carries around with him, takes it with him when he goes in his car seat and enjoys chewing on the rubbery end. Now when I brush my teeth he can pretend to brush his too. Who knew that toothbrushes made such great toys!

Nothing beats good oral hygiene

Donovan Discovers the Doggie Door
We were house sitting for our friends last weekend when Donovan discovered something new...the doggie door.
I thought it was too cute not to capture on film. Our friends Terry and Mary have six dogs, so including Becca, Donovan was surrounded by dogs all week. So I g
uess it makes sense that he watches and learns from them too. Sometimes I wonder if Donovan thinks he is a dog.

Missing Dad

Sterling's dad passes away on Saturday February 28, 2009. We've spent the last week in Illinois for the funeral and to take care of some of his Dad's affairs with the rest of Sterling's siblings. Sterling's Dad Carl was diagnosed with cancer last summer and had been fighting it ever since. When he was diagnosed it was already stage 4 cancer. It is so hard to believe that he is gone. That we can't just pick up the phone and call him anymore. But boy are we both thankful for the knowledge we have from the gospel, knowing that after this life we can all be together forever as a family. I know that Carl is probably throughly enjoying seeing his parents and brother right now.
The funeral went really well. It was pretty much like a family reunion. It was great to see how much Carl meant to so many people. He truly was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He never raised his voice or got angry. He was calm and an amazing listener. Jordan made a wonderful video slideshow of photos of Dad's life to play at the service. All of his children plus two of his nephews were pallbearers. I felt so honored to read the eulogy at the service. And of course Donovan was there making everyone smile and forget that they were feeling sad.
Here are some of my favorite photos of Dad.

Big head = more brains, right?

On Thursday I took Donovan to the pediatrician for his 9 month check up. At each appointment they measure Donovan's height, weight and head circumference and tell you what percentile they rank in. Here were his status this month.
Weight 20 lbs- 50th percentile
Height 27 inches- 20th percentile
Head Circumference- 18 inches 90th percentile
So that means Donovan's head is bigger that 90% of babies his age! We both had a good laugh about that one. So even though he's short with a gigantic head, we still think he's the best little guy in the world.
(Thanks Amber for the adorable photo!)
Club 33
Last month we went to Club 33 with our friends the Dunham's and the Foresters. It was so much fun! Especially with Donovan and Zoe (they were such troopers the whole day). It was great just to be in Disneyland again. Sterling and I miss having our annual passes, so this was a nice chance to get to visit the parks again too. Here are some of the highlights of the day.
My favorite picture of the day is the four of us on the Screamin' roller-coaster. This was Sterling's first time on the ride. We were all laughing about how we all had such funny expressions. Tyler looks bored. Bishop looks tired or maybe sick. Sterling and I actually look like we are on a roller-coaster. Too funny.

New Blog
I know we haven't posted anything in a while. So I decided to finally post about my new blog. It's a blog where I have been periodically posting different graphic design jobs I have been doing. It's just a fun way for me to keep track of some of the work I've been doing and it allows me to share it easily with friends and family. My blog is called Creative License Design. This is the company name I came up with for the business I want to start. Anyways I'm really excited about it and hope you guys enjoy looking at some of my work.
