Donovan Aftermath

Ever wonder what our living room looks like after Hurricane Donovan hits? Well here you go! If you know me you'll you know I like to keep our home very clean. This has been a big adjustment. He loves going from one thing to the next creating clutter. But you know what... he is 100% worth it!

June Update

I wanted to post some recent photos of Donovan.  He's been his happy healthy self for the most part lately, aside from a few teeth pushing through and interrupting his sleep. He has gotten to be quite the walker too and I'm thankful he still hasn't mastered running. In other news Sterling is busily preparing himself to take three parts of the CPA exam this summer. Poor guy! And I am planning a short trip this month to go visit family in Seattle with Donovan (Sterling will be studying at home...again poor guy). We are planning a family trip to San Diego this summer to do a little sightseeing and go to Sea World. And hopefully a weekend trip up to SLC in July to see Sterling's cousin who is coming for a visit. We DeVards love summertime because Sterling actually has deccent working hours. And we are excited to make the most of our summer!

Peahens like Cheerios

Whenever Donovan and I go for a walk I give him some Cheerios in his stroller cup. Today after I strapped him into the stroller our neighborhood peahen, Penelope, walked over to check out the stroller. Donovan decided to be generous and started throwing his Cheerios out for her to eat. She was very thankful and started gobbling them up. When he was running out of Cheerios, Penelope got brave and walked right up to the stroller looking for more. What we learned today is that peahens like Cheerios. 

Swing Dono

Donovan had the fun new experience of riding in the swing at the park. He seemed to really like it. But after about 5 minutes of swinging it was starting to put him to sleep. I guess it had the  same effect on him that it did when he was an infant. 

Soccer Baby

Donovan has been working on his soccer skills lately. He has become a much more confident walker in the last couple weeks! We have a giant purple ball that he loves to chase after in the yard. And pretty soon I'm sure he'll be able to actually kick it instead of just running into it. 

Happy Birthday Cowboy!

Donovan's Cowboy Party ended up being a lot of fun! And luckily there was no rain! We had the party in our friend's beautiful backyard. The kids got to play in a mini ball pit, ride on Donovan's car and eat tasty snacks. We had the Donovan movie playing in the background and some cowboy music on too. The best part was probably when Donovan got to dig into his cake. He didn't know what to do with it. He just picked at the icing. Then Granny showed him that there was cake underneath the icing and he went to town! For party favors we put together cowboy hats, bandanas, sheriff badges and cowboy rubber duckies. It was so wonderful getting to see all our friends and some family too! Thank you to everyone who came and made the day so special.

Donovan's First Year
